Hey all, I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I've been working on a new undated version of the Novel weekly planner. The plan is to have a horizontal week-per-spread design like the one below, a week-per-page design, and a vertical layout too. They will all have the same style, so I have provided 3 examples below of how the week-per-spread might look and am hoping to get your feedback so I can apply the same style to the other planners I am working on. Let me know if you prefer number 1, 2 or 3, and why you like/dislike the designs. I really appreciate your honest constructive feedback. Thanks, Alex

I prefer No 3 as it gives more choice of use in the heading box. The minimalist design is attractive and leaves plenty of choices for use but is also less structured, if that makes any sense.
Yes, that makes total sense. Thank you for your feedback! :) - Alex
Can I ask if you would usually go for a more structured layout when buying a planner? How do you usually like to plan your weeks?
I prefer the clean look of number 1. It gives me the freedom to jot multiple ideas down
Thanks, that's really helpful to know! Can I ask if you are using a planner at the moment and what your favourite features of it are?
I like that mine has a page a the start of each month that has a birthday, anniversary, to-do and goal list also a notes page at the end of each month
I would definitely like to create refills like that, which can be added in anywhere in the planner. Good to know it would be of interest :)
I like 2 and 3 because i like check boxes.
Thanks for your feedback :) All of the designs have a dot-grid background with light grey dots. How would you feel about using a planner with a squared or dot-grid background if you had to draw checkboxes yourself when needed? Basically I'm trying to figure out how important is it that the checkboxes are put in a specific place for you, rather than having the freedom to put them where you like? -Alex
Think I prefer 2 or 3 to monitor certain things in the checkboxes, but the minimalist design in 1 is nice. Practically for me 3 may be best
Thanks for your feedback! I'm curious to know if the checkboxes are a dealbreaker. Would the minimalist design still be useful without checkboxes, if you had to draw them in using the dot grid when needed, or are you looking for a more structured design to start with? - Alex
All three are superb as they do serve basic purpose of any notebook, but the more structure and ease of use there is, as in 2 and, even more so, in 3, the better for me. I, too, love ticking things I have done, so checkboxes are an ultimate bonus.
Thanks, it's really useful to know quite a few people like a checkbox :) Can I ask what kind of planner or notebook you usually use?
I prefer Option 1. There is a dot grid so I could easily draw my own boxes. I like that I could use the entire space at the top for a header. I don't have an idea about how big the dot-grid is. It seems that the boxes by the days might be too small to write in.
Thanks for letting me know your thoughts! The dot grid and checkboxes are 5mm squared. I did try making a version with 1cm boxes for the dates, but not sure if it looks right. What do you think?
